Sr. Project Management Analyst-1515003
1) Primary Function:
The Project Controls Professional (PCP) assists in the monitoring, controlling and communication of project performance. This position reports to the Clinical Project Manager, through a dotted line reporting relationship, and is responsible for directing and/or coordinating project planning & scheduling, estimating, cost control, change management and risk management.
Roles & Responsibilities:
General Attributes
1.Establishes and maintains a project monitoring, control and reporting system that supports on-going assessment of project performance and facilitates informed and timely adjustment of project execution to achieve project objectives
2.Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan sections related to project tracking, trending, reporting and change control elements
3.Applies strong time management, planning, organizational, decision making and problem solving skills to resolve issues in an effective and timely matter
4.Travels as needed to support project objectives
5.Utilizes strong proficiency in office applications such as Microsoft Office and common project controls applications to analyze and communicate project related metrics
6.Executes the roles and responsibilities of the position in a legal, ethical, and professional manner and compliant with Company Policies and Procedures
Baseline Change Control
1.Develops, or leads development of, the project schedule and cost estimates and subsequent establishment of the schedule and cost baselines
2.Establishes and maintains baseline change control, using change control logs and project change notices. Assists the Clinical Project Manager in the processing of change order requests, including change order cost estimation and impact
3.Maintains an up-to-date commitment & contract log in support of contract payment
Project Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Control and Risk Management
1.Develops / validates the project estimate
2.Establishes budgets based on the approved project estimate
3.Manages cost commitments
4.Reviews and approves vendor invoices
5.Assesses and submits project accruals to accounting personnel
6.Implements and manages the change control process
7.Implements and manages the Risk Management Process
8.Develops and maintains project trends and forecasts
9.Integrates project schedule(s) and performs critical path and variance analysis
10.Interfaces with accounting and budgeting support personnel to help establish and manage the project cash flow
Project Reporting
1.Assures effective reporting in the following areas (based on information provided by sponsor and Quintiles personnel):
a. Cost, schedule, and scope
b. Resource utilization and performance (productivity factors)
c. Change orders
d. Quality control, audits and inspections
e. Risk exposure and contingency reserve balance
f. Open action items and lessons learned
2.Runs the scheduling and execution portion of the Monthly Project Execution Meeting
Risk and Lessons Learned Management
1.Facilitates identification and assessment of project risks
2.Maintains the project risk register
3.Assesses contingency adequacy
4.Facilitates, as appropriate, project root cause assessments and lessons learned sessions
5.Addresses schedule and cost risks
Project Close
1.Transmits project controls documentation
2.Provides final contract payout (including retention)
3.Assists in closing project charge codes
4.Works with Contract Administrator to ensure all Contract Documentation has been received and properly addressed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willing to work in Shifts

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field and min 4 years with relevant clinical research experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
